Story

Hello.

I’ve no hidden passion in boxing, I don’t really watch it, and I’m not aggressive in any way. The only fight I’ve ever been in was in 3rd year of university when I saw my good friend Ryan on the deck of a grimy club in Nottingham being kicked (he definitely didn’t deserve it, probably), and so I swung and hit someone. I then got hit back by someone else and ended up with a bloody nose, so it looked like I got really stuck in, when in fact that was all my involvement.

Anyway, I’m doing this because A. Raise money for Cancer Research, B. It’s a great way to stay in shape.

I only have to raise £50 (I’ll still try to raise as much as I can), which I would be happy to donate myself seeing as I receive free boxing training, but what I would really appreciate more than anything, is if you could buy a ticket to come watch me on the night. Money from ticket sales also goes to Cancer Research, plus you’ll get to see me in the ring and have a great night all in one. It really will be worth your £20. You’ll either see me get beaten up, or deliver a beating, win/win? If you would like a ticket, then get in touch with me - maxfralmquist@gmail.com. Don't worry if you can't make it, any donation would be great.

In return, I promise to you, that I, Max “The Nord” Almquist, will give 100% to my training (3 times a week, as well as usual gym sessions). I am to get in to the best shape I’ve ever been (a low bar set there, but I’ll smash my previous best), the strongest I’ve ever been, and can guarantee you a good fight. Win or lose, I will give it my all, and hopefully you will all walk away knowing that I could not have done better. I obviously want to win, and will do my utmost to achieve that, but more importantly I want to dedicate myself to the cause.

The fight will consist of 3 x 2 minute rounds - so much harder than it sounds. My opponent will be chosen based on similar weight and ability, so with me being over 13 stone I feel that is to my detriment. If you picture a guy at 13 stone you wouldn’t picture me, so I have a feeling that they’ll be big. The final showdown will be on Sunday 11th October at The Troxy in East London, time TBC.

I will update this page as I go along with training updates, and my thoughts and feelings (mainly on the upcoming fight, but sometimes about love and life etc) and if there is enough demand (literally one person will do) I can post semi-naked pictures as I go along.
