I'm well aware Movember is more commonly associated with men's mental health, prostate cancer, testicular cancer and so on but I'm doing it for a slightly different reason which I hope you'll still support. 

I've chosen to raise funds for SRSB because it's a cause close to my partner and her families heart. My partner battles everyday with her visual impairment be it on a personal level or having to deal with small minded people making comments like "how can you not see that?" "why have you got the text so big on your phone?" or even "you need better glasses". 

The majority of people associate poor vision with glasses and think that a pair of glasses instantly corrects people's vision. For many this is the case but it's not for everyone. 

My partner's vision can't be corrected due to it the problem being associated with her optic nerves but no one would know that without asking - and generally people don't ask. 

In the UK there are almost 2 million people living with sight loss, of those around 360,000 are registered blind or partially sighted. 

For my partner being told she had a visual impairment that can't be treated was difficult to come to terms with and the mental strength she has through her day to day life is incredible. 

She is constantly learning what she is and isn't capable of - but just because she isn't capable of something doesn't mean she's failed. 

Honestly, on a day to day basis I can't really tell she's visual impaired but that's down to the immense support she receives from her friends, family and SRSB. 

SRSB needs your support and funding to help continue provide on-going support for people with sight-loss

The charity helps blind and partially sighted people in Sheffield achieve whatever they wish to do and whatever they aspire to be. 

For many people their sight is limited but that doesn't mean there life has to be,
