Max and Daisy's Clothes & Toy Swap Shop
9.45am-12pm Fri 30 Sept 2011
Max and Daisy love their grub so they wanted to do something to help raise money for the children affected by the East African famine.
So they've roped me in to holding a Swap shop for children's clothes and toys and maternity/nursing clothes.
The idea is you give £10 to come, and you bring at least 2 good quality items to swap with you. Then you can rummage around and take as much home with you as you like.
There will also be a cake stand selling slices of cake for £1, and free Save the Children stickers & balloons, and squash/drinks for the children. Plus I'll bring out lots of Max and Daisy's toys to keep the little ones entertained while their Mums/Dads/Carers have a rummage around.
I know you are asked to sponsor a lot of things, but hopefully this will be a way to give a little extra to the poor children affected by the famine while bagging a bargain for your little ones too.
You can donate your money on the day, or ahead of time on this Just Giving Page.
Please also pass this on to any friends/colleagues who you think might be interested.
On behalf of Save the Children and the children of the East African Famine,
THANK YOU!
Love Daisy, Max and Amyxxx
Some information from the Save the Children Website:
Over 12 million people face a devastating food crisis across East Africa as drought has wiped out livestock, crops and income.
Increasing numbers of children from Somalia are arriving on their own at the huge refugee camp in Dadaab, Kenya. Some parents, out of desperation, have abandoned their babies here.
Save the Children is on the ground saving lives. We’re rapidly providing food, water, medicine and crucial support to families who have lost their incomes.
But millions of children need help and we urgently need more funds to reach them.
