Recently a local homeless person died overnight and was found the following day in a shop doorway. Such an event should not happen and could have been prevented if that person had adequate shelter and support. I believe that everyone should be given the opportunity to live in a way that provides them with security and good health.
St. Mungo's charity works to end homelessness and rebuild lives. Each night they offer a bed and support to more than 2,800 people across the south and south west. They work to prevent homelessness and support people throughout their recovery from homelessness.
I will be completing the Essex Nuclear Races 7K obstacle course and mud run, to raise funds for this incredible charity to help protect and support the homeless.
