My name is Maya. I'm 10 years old and live in London with my mum, dad and little sister Eden.

I've been growing my hair for about three years now, and have decided to cut it for Zichron Menachem, an amazing charity who will make my hair into a wig for someone who has lost their's through their chemotherapy treatment.

I think I would be devastated if I had cancer and lost my hair. I can't even begin to imagine how cancer patients feel and so I wanted to do my bit and give someone my hair, so they feel beautiful whilst they are battling cancer through their treatment. It's only a small gesture, but one I hope gives them some comfort. 

The money I raise from your kind donations will also go to Zichron Menachem, who provide summer camps and fun activities for children and their families whilst they go through their treatment. 

I'm connected to cancer through my grandparents, who themselves have battled and survived cancer in the past. My little sister Eden was also born through a partial molar pregnancy, so this is personal to me.
