We are Team McKinney & Friends – a fundraising team who will be taking part in our Strictly Come Dancing spectacular on Saturday 20th May 2023 in the Hilton Hotel, Templepatrick. Over the next three months we will be learning to dance in association with Ballroom Blitz NI to raise much needed funds for our charity Cancer Fund for Children.

On 9th October 2019 our friend and fellow dancer Kasia McKinney was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 when her son Charlie was just 5 months old. A few short months later she started chemotherapy followed by intense radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Not long after starting her treatment, Kasia and her husband John began fundraising for Cancer Fund For Children who were a lifeline to their children throughout Kasia’s treatment.

We have a fundraising goal of raising £50,000 in support of Cancer Fund For Children. But we need your help to reach it! This page will showcase the run up to our event, our fabulous dancers, sponsors and prizes as we work towards our £50,000 goal!

So how will it work? Our couples start rehearsing on 12th March 2023 with our showcase taking place on 20th May 2023. Each couple will also be fundraising individually (a competition within a competition!) to secure donations for Cancer Fund For Children – this may be through GoFundMe pages, smaller events and even business sponsorship. This page will update you on all of the teams efforts leading up to our big day!
