Project Harar provides access to treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration services in Ethiopia for children and young people with clefts and more complex facial disfigurements. We do this because these children and young people are at risk of stunting, malnutrition, and social exclusion.

Story

Hello hello,

I'm gonna be running at the Asics British 10K London Run 2011 on the 10th of July to help raising money for Project Harar.

Project Harar is a small, dedicated charity, so all the money raised will go to where it's needed - arranging facial surgery for children in rural Ethiopia.

A cleft lip in the affluent West is easily and routinely fixed at birth. But in rural Ethiopia, an untreated cleft lip can make life very tough. It is difficult to do the most basic things, like talk and eat or go to school.

It costs just £250 to give these kids something we all take for granted. You can check out the succes stories here.

Even a small donation will make a big difference, and remember to tick the 'gift aid' box if you're a UK taxpayer to add a 25% government funded boost to the value of your donation.

Thanks a lot!
