Story

***Update***

We are now taking on this challenge as a team!! Myself and Pete Cowlishaw will be tackling the whole thing and 2 groups of friends, colleagues and my Dad will be tackling individual parts; Colette Price, Sue Hearn, Charlie Lindenbaum, Mike Howe, Matty Murphy and Kirsten Ramsay (massive thanks to Liz Halliwell who has organised the teams and but sadly had a biking accident while training xx).

Mum would have loved that all of us are coming together as a team to raise money for a great charity. I can't think of a better way to honour mums memory than a big challenge shared with some of those closest to her xx

***Update***

This triathlon will now be carried out in memory of Mum as she passed away on 31st of March in Alaw Ward surrounded by her family. She was thrilled that so much had been raised after the original target of £500 became a target of £3500. Her kindness, cheerfulness, positivity, fierce passion, and enthusiasm for new challenges will carry on in all those who knew her and will undoubtedly aid me in finishing this triathlon

Just before Christmas, my family was shocked by the news that my mum, Liz had Stage 4 Colon cancer. For all those close to us know that my mum is the most giving, selfless and caring woman who was seldom seen to be doing nothing. My sister and I have been very lucky to have parents who have supported us in everything we took up, with our mum always taking it that extra step further. It has been difficult for all those close to see mum cease to be her normal self. Since Christmas mum has been in and out of hospital, regularly being treated on Alaw Ward and starting chemotherapy.

So, in an attempt to remain positive and to give thanks for all the care and treatment mum is receiving, I have decided to take part in my first triathlon, inadvertently signing up to the UK's most challenging route...

Please help me juggle training and my final year of university and support mum in her treatment by donating to this wonderful charity.
