Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Following my marathon debut in 2015 I am still overwhelmed by how many people supported my cause and donated their hard earned money. I am again running for a small charity called BRACE who fund research into Alzheimer's, and because I feel bad about asking you to be so generous again I thought I'd put myself through added pain and do the double marathon! (ouch)
The reason I am raising money to fund research into Alzheimer's - my Grandma. Many of you will already know this but for those who don't, my Grandma has this cruel and evil disease which her mum had and her cousin is also now suffering it's destroying effects. Words cannot describe how evil it is and funding into research is vitally important to help find a cure and stop so many families from suffering .
My Grandma means the absolute world to me, we have always been very close and she has played a huge role in bringing my siblings and I up. However over the past 5 years we have had to watch her daily struggle as she has lost memories, her mobility, her independence and been stripped of her awesome personality. As well as her personal suffering, as many of those who have experienced the same thing, it is destroying for her loved ones to watch. My once life and soul of the party Grandma is a shell of the person she used to be. After she was recently hospitalised (for a different reason) and placed on a ward with other ladies who are suffering from it, I have had the shocking realisation of how bad it can get. Something nobody should ever have to contemplate happening to them or someone they love.
So please help me support this amazing charity and donate anything you can afford - every penny is so gratefully received by myself and my charity. I will be running Brighton Marathon on the 9th April and two weeks later London Marathon on the 23rd April. If you want to come down and cheer me on please do, speaking from experience there's nothing like seeing a friendly face when it feels like you're running with concrete blocks attached to your legs :)
And lets just take a moment to pray for my toe nails...!
Much love gorgeous people xx
