Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

I, along with 7 other Glasgow students, will be undertaking the Glasgow University Munro Challenge on the weekend of the 28th of May. This challenge aims to have as many groups of walkers on tops of Scotland's 283 Munro's between 28th-30th May 2011 in order to raise funds for appeals associated with the University. Our group will be attempting to summit the following four Munro's over the course of the weekend:

Sat 28th May: Stuc a' Coin and Ben Verlich
Sun 29th May: Beinn Tulaichean and Cruach Ardrain

All donations will go towards the Beatson Pebble Appeal. The Beatson Pebble Appeal is a campaign to raise £10 million to build a cancer research facility; the Beatson Translational Research Centre.  This centre will convert basic cancer research into real improvements in treatments for patients. It will focus upon especially common tumours, those that cause the most deaths in Scotland such as endocrine (breast, prostate and ovarian); smoking related (lung, throat, oral) and gastrointestinal cancer.  Build will start on the new Centre in March 2011, with an estimated completion date of autumn 2012. To date £8.2 million has been raised.

More information on the Beatson Pebble Appeal can be found here: www.beatsonpebbleappeal.org

Any donations, no matter the amount, will make a big difference and we thank you for supporting us in this challenge.
