Story

Hi Everyone, Firstly Thank You for visiting my JustGiving Page!

My Name's Megan Doyle, I'm 21 Years old and live in  Long Eaton, Nottingham .. I'm currently studying a Degree in Fine Art at Central College.

I want to raise money for the charity Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis in memory of a inspirational and selfless man he was not only a church pastor but a close friend.
We as a church are at a great loss and he will be sadly missed. He bought me to faith and taught me so much about living for God and loving one another.

Pulmonary Fibrosis is a respiratory disease which creates scaring of the lung tissue and causes serious breathing problems. Breathing is something that is so easy to do and something we take for granted everyday! Imagine being in constant pain, where every breath hurts.. Lets raise awareness .. It was heartbreaking to watch his health deteriorate! It destroys your lungs completely within a matter of months, making breathing nearly impossible! So it literally becomes a life threatening waiting game. What is worse there is currently no cure! All the money raised will go to the charity to help familys effected and much needed research into treatment.

Please feel free to donate as much or as little as you want, it will be most appreciated! The event (if you would like to come along) will be held at Cromford Canal, Derbyshire on the 6th of August this year.
It would be my privilege to honour such a great man of faith through my fundraising and in the proccess help other people to! I just know this is what he would of wanted me to do.

At his funeral I heard amazing testimonies of how many lives and hearts he touched throughout his life and its because of him I feel motivated to do this.
You will not only be giving me an unspeakable amount of motivation and helping a great cause but also giving his family peice of mind and reassurance. I can't even begin to tell you how much your support will mean to us let alone the charity!

One of the main reasons I chose to walk at Cromford Canal (aside from it's outstanding beauty and breathtaking views of the surrounding Derbyshire Dales) is because it's an area of great importance for my mum and me. We spent many happy hours at Cromford and Matlock with my Nan and Grandad (mums mum and dad) but my grandad sadly passed away in 2008. So this walk will be a great opportunity to remember the happy times and honour a great man in faith Paul Day who passed away only recently! Walk with me and remember your own loved ones who have "gone on to a better place."

The walk will last approximately 3-4hours (depending on your walking pace) it will be a great day out for all the family as the terrain is flat!  The walk is thoroughly sign posted and the footpath is well constructed. A leisurely river walk in the sun is just the tonic for a healthy outlook on life and you will be raising lots of money for a great cause. The walk itself is approx 5.5 miles and we will be able to stop for a break at The High Peak Junction and admire the beautiful scenery .. Come and join me for a wonderful day out! ❤️
