I founded Cuan Wildlife Rescue in 1989 before my daughter and her husband took over from me in 2014.

In 2013, I undertook a solo walk round the whole coast of Anglesey to raise money for the building of our new Cuan Wildlife hospital.
Now, six years on, to celebrate 30 years of Cuan Wildlife Rescue (we came to Much Wenlock in 1989 from the small Scottish island where it all began), and to give myself a new challenge
for having turned 70 last December, I am planning to walk the ‘Hebridean Way’.

This is a new long-distance walking route, barely been open two years, all the way up the inhabited islands of the Outer Hebrides – 10 in all.  Officially, it’s 155 miles, but as most nights I shall have to walk some way ‘0ff-piste’ to get to where I shall be
staying and again to get something to eat, not to mention retracing my steps whenever I get lost (!), in reality it will be at least 170.

Again, I shall be doing it on my own with no backup support, and am leaving on 15th May.  If all goes to plan, it should take
me two weeks. I am funding this myself so 100% of your donation will go to Cuan. It costs over £200,000 each year to run the wildlife rescue. Thank you for reading this and for your support.
