Story

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعون

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un  "Verily we belong to God, and verily to Him do we return."

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)

For those that knew my dad know that he was one in a million with a contagious smile. No matter what your age he respected everyone. He was firstly an amazing husband to my mother, the best dad anyone could ask for but an even better son to my Late grandma (May Allah swt have mercy on her soul) and my grandad who is missing his first born dearly, a great big brother, an amazing uncle, friend and the list goes on. He was good to everyone he met. This is why so many are talking so highly of him. It’s been 3 days since my beloved father left this world but the pain in our hearts is unbearable. My dad did so much charity work that he never mentioned to any of his children we are finding Out something new everyday.

Today i want to follow in my dads footsteps and make him proud and raise money for a charity that was very very close to his heart. For one that he worked so Hard for, for many years. I want to help build a medical care centre In his name to help the less fortunate in a rural part of Kashmir.

Pirkot is one of the most rural areas of Kashmir which has very limited access to health care which therefore means the hygiene conditions of the localcommunity are extremely poor. The locals which live in this area are deprived of basic health facilities. The more far flung and mountainous areas of Azad Kashmir have such remote access to the health care thus meaning that in a population of over 5000 people there is only one doctor available.

God works in mysterious ways and we are now accepting that the true owner had given us a beautiful gift for 64 years who we loved and cherished, and live with the belief that we will be reunited once again, in the hereafter.

In the meantime, we attempt to convert the sorrow and loss into motivation to live this temporal life in a meaningful way with faith, love and service to others.

The message to myself and others especially in these challenging times is to reach out, not only to our loved ones but people in our communities and assist whoever we can in our circle of influence.

Please donate whatever you can even if it’s £1 in my dads name.

Thank you for taking your time to read this and Jzk in advance for your donations.

About the charity

Kashmir Relief & Development Foundation (KRDF) is a UK- based (Waltham Forest) registered charity that provides free education in remote areas of Kashmir. Established in 2005 after the devastating earthquake that left over 70,000 people dead and almost all education infrastructure destroyed, we have successfully built schools for children, helped thousands of women by providing them free vocational training and have helped many remote areas by providing fresh water supply. OUR MISSION: KRDF strives to empower individuals especially those who are in dire need of help by providing them with quality education. We aim to be at the forefront of empowering women and helping to make them self reliant. We also endeavour to transform lives by improving access to safe water in remote areas. We identify remote areas in Kashmir and develop facilities to educate the children to the best standard possible.
