Isle of Wight Challenge · 24 August 2014 to 25 August 2014 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I try to do something a little different for Charity each year.  2014 is no exception.  Together with a dear friend, I will walk the 107km around cost of the Isle of Wight in 24 hours.

3 people within my family have been impacted by Alzheimers and I have seen first hand how this disease affects individuals and also their families.  I just want to help.  In visiting this page, I hope that you can find it in your hearts to support me.  It doesn't matter if it's 50p or £20 - it's your donations that will spur me on to complete the challenge.

We will set off at around 9am on Saturday 23rd August, and walk through the day and the night, completing the walk by 9am the following morning.  I am deliberately not attempting to walk the full distance before the event.... why?  I'm not sure my legs would let me do it twice!

As we cross the finish line, we will be treated to a glass of champagne, and a bacon buttie.  I think I'll be in need of a good 'spray ralgex' (like a spray tan, but it sprays the pain away (for those of you wondering - that's make believe!!)) and a comfy bed with big fluffy pillows right at the finish line so we can just flop over into the bed and sleep

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
