Story

Our wonderful Dad Ken, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to so many, passed away suddenly on 2nd May 2018 after a brain bleed which led to a car crash.  Ken's funeral will take place on 29th May 2018, from midday at Cookhill Village Hall, Evesham and then at Westall Park natural burial ground Holberrow Green. Everyone is welcome but please let Mel, Nick or Lindsey know if you plan to come so we can plan enough food and drink.

Ken was always the first person to put his hand in his pocket and give to charity.  In particular Help for Heroes, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Cerebal Palsy Midlands, although many others also shared in his generosity.  Sometimes this was Dad donating his own money, but Dad was also involved in active fundraising manning stalls at craft fairs, selling raffle tickets and helping at fundraising events.  Therefore we think it's fitting that instead of flowers, we invite donations to a charity very close to Dad's and Nick's hearts, Cerebal Palsy Midlands.

Over the years both Dad and Nick have benefited from a close and supportive relationship with Cerebal Palsy Midlands, who run the day centre that Nick attends.  It was CPM who helped Dad ensure Nick received the benefits he was entitled to and most recently helped him challenge his PIP assessment to ensure the continuity of Nick's care at his home in Rubery.  They run activities that enhance Nick's quality of life, including taking Nick horse riding on Thursday afternoons.

I'm sure Dad would think this all terribly modern, but to help with admin we've set up this just giving page for anyone who wants to donate.  We'll also be collecting donations at the funeral for the same cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity, Cerebal Palsy Midlands. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for being part of Dad's life, and for helping us to remember him and support Nick.

Nicholas, Mel and Lindsey x
