Story
On the 29th September this year I am running the Robin Hood Half Marathon to raise money for PASIC, the Parent's Association for Seriously Ill Children. PASIC supports the families of children with cancer, leukaemia and brain tumours.
I am fundraising for this charity as they supported my Grandparents, Beryl and Pete, my Uncle Andrew and my Mum, Tracey, when they sadly lost their youngest son and brother, 'Little' Pete, to leukaemia in the 1980's.
The charity was formed in 1977 by parents and a hospital consultant at the Nottingham Children's Hospital, QMC. It was felt there was a need for support for the families of ill children, and that the best kind of support would come from parents who had shared a similar experience.
PASIC has now grown and is currently supporting over 400 families throughout the East Midlands, whose children have been diagnosed or are receiving treatment at the Nottingham Children's Hospital. For more information on how funds raised for PASIC are used, please visit their website http://www.pasic.org.uk/
Any amount you donate will be gratefully received. I don't have a specific cash target in mind, I'd just like to raise as much as possible to help this fantastic charity. In terms of the half marathon, as it is my first attempt at something on this scale, I don't have a personal best to beat or a time-target, I'd just like to get round without stopping and complete it!
Thank you for donating and visiting my page!
