Story
For Vicki and Roger
Thank you for visiting my head-shave sponsorship page.
Are you crazy? Shaving your head? Don't do it!
So why am I doing it? In solidarity with Vicki and Roger who are currently excited that their hair can start to grow back now that their chemo treatments have recently been completed. My sister, Vicki, was diagnosed with breast cancer in the end of March. Her operation to remove the lump went well, however she also had to undergo a cycle of chemotherapy to be followed up by radiation in the near future. Her chemo treatments finished October 12.
May brought news that Roger, my husband's brother-in-law, had throat cancer. His chemotherapy treatments did shrink the cancer and technically he is in remission. He also has radiation therapy to go through in the coming weeks. Roger's three kids, all under the age of 8, understand that Daddy is very ill, but they are finding humour in seeing him bald!
Roger asked that donations from my head-shaving event be given to Macmillan Cancer Support who were very helpful with information and advise during his ordeal. I have set up a similar website for donations to Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for friends and family in Canada. Donating online is quick, easy and totally secure. If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you.
Thank you so much for your support.
MAKE SURE YOU COME BACK AND VISIT MY PAGE AFTER NOVEMBER 10 FOR VIDEO EVIDENCE OF MY BALDNESS!!
God bless you all.
Melanie
