Story

SOLD OUT -- SOLD OUT -- SOLD OUT -- SOLD OUT -- SOLD OUT

All tickets for this event are now sold I'm afraid. Donations made after 16:00 on the 12/11/14 will no longer offer an event entry. By all means continue to donate money to DSL here, but I'm afraid venue rules prevent us from selling any more tickets!  If you've missed out and but would like to come to a future celidh, just shout!

On Friday 14th November from 8.00pm until late we are throwing a Ceilidh in the Ballroom at the Bedford Pub, Balham, in aid of Down's South London. We have booked the local band, Fiddle Paradiddle for the night and hope to have a charity auction too.  If you would like to come to the Ceilidh, tickets are £20 each.  Please indicate how many tickets you would like and include your contact details so that we can arrange how to get tickets to you.  If you are unable to use this site to pay for the tickets or would like any further information please contact Mel at melrosenvinge@gmail.com

Down's South London is a parent-run charity supporting children with Down's Syndrome and their families. A parent's perspective:

Finding out that my son had Down's Syndrome has been the most painful thing that I have ever experienced.  Much of the first year of his life was spent in and out of hospital with Doctors giving us additional bad news.  Along with all the medical complications, Down's syndrome makes it much harder for children like my son to do the basic things like walking and talking.  In addition, he is also deaf.  I was feeling pretty desperate about his future until we joined DSL.  9 months later and my son is now crawling and making his first attempts at speaking.
