Story

I'm writing this with aching thighs and sore knees and I've only just finished the second week of my training plan.

I'm running the Chester marathon because if I put it off any longer my knees won't be able to, because my husband, Angus, has kindly ( ?stupidly) agreed to hold the fort  at home while I spend time training pounding the streets  ......

and most importantly to raise money for MSF.

MSF is an amazing charity that I have always admired. It provides  emergency medical care to people affected by armed conflict, natural disasters, epidemics and exclusion from healthcare. I know from friends who have worked for them in various countries what a difference MSF makes to the lives of people less fortunate than us.

90% of MSF's funding comes from private donors- this means that it   is able to operate independently and provide humaritarian assistance in some of the world's most insecure enviroments.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I'm determined to train properly to make sure I complete the marathon.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks

Melanie
