Running is a huge part of our lives now and what better way to raise funds for the Hospice, than to take part in the ultimate race and run 26.2 miles around London! We've recently completed the Royal Parks Half so this is our next challenge.

The day we lost Dad and when Andy lost his parents, Sylv and Les, it changed us as people forever, but I'm sure they are looking down on us and feeling proud of our fundraising through running achievements.The pain of loss never goes away but running helps us cope and when we are able to fundraise to show our gratitude to Cynthia Spencer Hospice. When the time came for Dad to go to the Hospice they provided emotional support to us as a family and was able to control Dad's pain and provided the best care to ensure that Dad had a comfortable and dignified death. We have been given two marathon places by the Hospice and are fundraising to thank them for all their kindness, not only caring so beautifully for Dad in the Hospice but also to support events like The Tree of Light, which I know Les took great comfort from and where we go every December to remember our loved ones in a very special service.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people diagnosed with life limiting and terminal illnesses and their families at the Hospice and across Northamptonshire through the Hospice at Home Community Care Team. The Hospice services are offered free of charge, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The work they do is truly amazing and all the staff and volunteers are very special people.

Throughout this year and next, as well as training, we will be arranging numerous fundraising events and your support will keep us motivated on those cold winter mornings when we start racking up the miles. We know how lucky we are to have such wonderful family and friends who have done us proud at previous fundraising events and for that we are eternally grateful.
