Story
If organized sports can give a frizzy-haired, chubby teenage girl some confidence and a sense of belonging and self worth, imagine what it can do for a child in a war torn country whose life has been devastated by loss and destruction. Right to Play seems like a great cause. They bring organized sport and play to children in war torn and poverty-stricken countries to improve health, promote peace and develop life skills. As you know kids get so much more out of sport than just fitness-self confidence, a sense of belonging, team work skills, leadership skills and the list goes on. I'm running this half-marathon AGAIN because this sport does give me a sense of accomplishment and hopefully all for a good cause. There is no pressure to donate but I did want to spread the word about this worthwhile charity. In this "Age of Austerity" as Steve likes to call it- I shouldn't even be asking you for a donation so rest assured no amount is too small- seriously- a fiver will do the trick. Thanks so much for your support. Mere
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
