The Lord Mayor’s Appeal aims to support our two charity partners, MQ Mental Health Research and Homewards - A Royal Foundation, who will be delivering ground breaking programmes that can help change people's lives and help create A Better City for All.

Story

"No way, I'm never running a marathon, too far, it's nuts!!" - Mette, 2017.

2018, it's still bloody nuts, but I'm going to do it anyway!!!

London Marathon 2018, you don't scare me (well, a little), but I am determined to conquer!

The City of London's 23 Mile Club has been so nice to give me a spot on their 2018 London Marathon team. Together with them I'm raising money for The Lord Mayor's appeal, which, this year, is supporting three very worthwhile causes - Place2Be, OnSide Youth Zones, Samaritans.

Any money you can spare is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Place2Be is the UK's leading children's mental health charity providing in-school support and expert training to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

OnSide Youth Zones is a game changer for London’s young people, providing substantial, additional 21st century youth provision across the capital. The charity has already developed a strong and thriving network of Youth Zones across the North West and Midlands and 2018 will see construction work start on its first centres in London.

Every six seconds somebody contacts Samaritans for help and their team of 20,000 volunteers offer a safe space to talk for those struggling to cope. Last year the charity’s 201 branches responded to 5.7 million requests for help across UK and Ireland.
