In memory of Adrienne Gilleece

At Northern Ireland Hospice, we care for more than 4,000 babies, children and adults with life-limiting illnesses, both in Hospice and in the community. We look after every patient's nursing, medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs with support for their family continuing into bereavement.

Story

On May Day, my sisters and myself along with a few family friends will be running the Belfast Marathon in memory of my sister Adrienne Gilleece (nee Ferguson) who sadly lost her brave battle with cancer in June 2011. Adrienne was a wonderful, beautiful person whose spirit never wavered. Her courage, strength of will and love of her family still continues to be an inspiration to all that knew her.

We have entered 2 relay teams (Team Adrienne & Team Aoife) with myself running the full marathon.

We would like to raise as much as possible to help the Hospice who continue to give so much support to families who have lost loved ones.

Many thanks for those taking part in the 2 Relays:

Team Adrienne: Paula McBride, Maria Ferguson, Peter Kane, Cecilia Birt & Eimear McCrory

Team Aoife: Loretto Ferguson, Bronywn Gribben, Pauline O'Kane, Teresa Lagan & Fidelma McGrane

Best of luck to everyone!
