Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Heartfelt thanks to all of you who have donated so far and I hope that others who read this don't mind a gentle nudge by way of a reminder!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I want to do some small thing that scares the hell out of me in honour of all our limbless veterans who are an inspiration to us all, showing unbelievable courage, spirit, fortitude and humour in the face of true adversity.

In particular, I have been personally inspired by my nephew, Will Dixon (3 Rifles) who came back from Sangin, Afghanistan minus one leg, only to row the Atlantic in 2011/12 as part of the Row to Recovery Crew -"Six Men Eight Legs One Boat 2,500 Miles".

Since then, I have had the honour to become a friend and mentor (in a property investment venture) with two more remarkable, multi-amputee, Afghan veterans; Kingsley Ward (2 Para) and Stephan Van Niekerk (3 Rifles) with whom I am doing this jump.

Please give generously, as when I'm sitting in the doorway of that aeroplane, two miles up, wondering what the hell I'm doing, I'd like to know it's going to be worthwhile!
