Story
UPDATE! Thanks for all the supportive comments and generous donations. Blown away by the total raised! Thank you all so much.
The swim itself was fantastic. A memorable, rewarding and at times hilarious experience. Contrary to earlier thoughts, we fully intend to return next year but purely for the fun - your wallets and purses are safe from me. Well done to Kev, Rich and Pete; you helped make today a complete pleasure (though I am beginning to ache now) and we still need to get that celebratory pint in...

I have chosen to raise money for the Addison Self-Help Support Group as our family have used their resources since my son Owen was diagnosed with the condition back in 2013. This condition is relatively rare and does not receive the funding that other, more common, conditions like diabetes does. As such, the Addison's Disease Self Help Group have been really helpful with their well explained information and support on this life-long disease. Examples include giving guidance to help us and Owen's teachers care for him and it also contributes to current research on the condition.
I will be swimming the Dart 10 k on Sunday, 10th September along with three friends: Kev, Rich and Pete. None of us have ever swum this far before (and may never again) but are all looking forward to the challenge, the camaraderie and a pint afterwards!
Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read this and even more so if you kindly donate to this worthwhile cause... it is greatly appreciated.
A HUGE thank you for all those who have responded and all your amazingly generous donations. I am overwhelmed by your generosity. I had better complete this swim eh!?
