Virgin London Marathon 2014 · 13 April 2014 ·

We provide specialist end-of-life care, and a wide range of support services, to over 1,200 people who are living with a life-limiting illness in the Wigan Borough. Many patients are cared for in their own homes, although we also care for people living in care homes and in our In-Patient Unit.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my charity fundraising page.

I will be taking part in the London Marathon in April 2014 to raise money for the wonderful Wigan Hospice.

My friends know that for years I swore I would never do a marathon ("running is boring"), but I couldn't pass-up this opportuninty to support a great cause which helps thousands of people in my home town, at the time in life when they most need it.

The challenge of running the 26 miles and 385 yards/42.195 kilometres, will be made that extra little bit "interesting", as I will be doing all the training for this event in the sub-zero temperatures of winter in Central Finland.

So, those freezing and icy training runs will be made a whole lot easier knowing that I will be able to raise much needed cash for the wonderful people at Wigan Hospice.

I greatly appreciate every penny/cent you can donate to my cause, and every penny/cent will motivate me to push harder and run through the innevitable pain.

Thanks!

Michael :)
