I have run the London Marathon in my 30s, 40s, 50s and now in 2012 when I will be 60. However I have never, until this year, run for a charity. My dear brother- in- law William (Bill) Carpenter was cared for by St Catherines Hospice. I vividly remember his remarkable bravery and the stoic way he dealt with his awful illness. It is in his memory that I will be taking every step of the 2012 marathon. I hope that the money I raise will give St Catherines some much needed money to continue their superb palliative care.
