This year, I am fortunate to have secured a plan in the Virgin London Marathon via a ballot with my running club, Sedgefield Harriers. Again, I will continue to raise funds for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Having lost my father in 2012 after a long battle with cancer I can truly appreciate the pain and grief experienced by so many families and the vital role the charity is dedicated to fulfilling. All donations made on the day of my father's funeral were given to the Foundation and my aim is to continue running in his memory to raise as much money as possible for such a worthwhile cause. I appreciate your support and would like to thank you in advance for any donations made.

This will be my sixth marathon. In 2017 I ran the Paris marathon alongside my brother and achieved a PB of 3:09.16. My goal for this year is to continue enjoy running and ideally achieve a new PB! Unfortunately, my brother will not be running the event so I will be flying the flag for the Pyle family....
