Hello family and friends!

As you know, we are getting married soon. This is such a happy time for us and we are incredibly excited to celebrate with all our friends and families over the next few months!

Not everyone is so fortunate to have such supportive friends and family, or opportunities to connect with others regularly. That is why we support North London Cares. It is a community network that brings young professionals and older neighbours together to hang out and help one another in our rapidly changing city! It creates many happy moments for people in the local community. 

Sadly, people over 75 are the loneliest age group in the UK and the second and third loneliest are people between 21 and 25 and 25 and 35. North London Cares creates opportunities for shared time, laughter, new experiences and friendship amongst these groups. This happens though:

• Friendship matches , a 6 month weekly meet up between a young professional and older neighbour to forge a local friendship. It costs £250 to set up this friendship and can make a massive difference to both neighbours' lives!
• Social clubs throughout the year, the calendar ranges from dance parties, 'gizmos and gadgets' new technology workshops, and podcast clubs and many more. 

Those who take part report feeling happier and closer to their community! 

Ellie and Joan recently celebrated three years of laughter, strolls in the park and visits to tea shops. Ellie elaborated on her friendship with Joan for the North London Cares Annual Report: “Those two hours where I step out of my day and catch up with Joan’s comings and- goings are always a highlight of my week. I suspect Joan thinks my visits are mostly for her benefit but I’d argue they’re even more valuable for me. We’ve forged a true friendship.”
