Little Jamie's Gift Auction

Little Jamie's Gift Auction · 12 March 2016
On 18th May 2015 our Son Jamie was brought into the world with some serious problems, he was a large baby in an awkward position and during the caesarean he was in distress and breathed in meconium (meconium aspiration syndrome) this caused his little lungs to collapse and he came out not breathing. After 8 minutes they were able to establish breathing and took him to Broomfield Neonatal care where he had a Chest Drain inserted to help clear a Pneumothorax. Unfortunately his condition deteriorated over 24hrs and they struggled to ventilate him and he red lined. The amazing doctors at Broomfield Hospital saved his life and he was blue lighted up to Addenbrooks Specialist Hospital in Cambridge where he was in intensive care for 8 days. He had a few bad moments there as well and the amazing doctors and nurses saved his life once more.
Jamie is with us today because of the excellent work and dedication of the staff at Broomfield Neonatal and Addenbrooks PICU and NICU units where Jamie stayed. It was the most terrifying 2 weeks of our lives and the only reason we managed to get through it was because we could be at our sons side while he fought for his life. I was quite ill after my caesarean and would not of been able to go back and forth from the hotel to be with him. The Sick Children's Trust put us up in a house within the hospital grounds so we could be with our son 24/7 as he needed us. This was the most important thing in the world to us and we couldn't thank them enough for making it possible. The Trust works purely off charity donations so it is now our aim to repay the favour by raising money so they can keep helping families when they most need it - when their beloved children are seriously sick.
In March Gary & I are putting on a Charity Auction to raise money for Broomfield Neonatal, Addenbrooks PICU & NICU units (Rosie) and The Sick Childrens Trust. If you would like to make a gift donation we can auction or raffle (this can be anything from a Car to a holiday to a Vase to a box of Chocolates) then please email me at michelleorpe@hotmail.com or alternatively could you please donate to this page and help us get to the £1000 mark for The Sick Children's Trust.
Next time it could be you that needs to be by your childs side in intensive care, so please be generous.
