Story
I am running the Greater Manchester Marathon for the 3rd time this year.
I am taking part in this huge challenge of running continuously for 26.2 miles across Manchester to raise money for a very worthy local Charity and a Charity, who, over the years, have helped many people close to my heart and the hearts of loved ones. The Charity is Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.
The Marathon as some may know is a seriously tough challenge, not only physically, but mentally too. Myself and my brother Brent will be training for months, whether it's raining, hailing stoning, snowing, you name it, we will be out there early doors and evenings for months to help us prepare for the daunting run in April!
Some may think after 3 years, it must be easier, but the truth is it's just as hard every time and there's always the risk of getting injured during the months of training. It's the hardest thing and the most rewarding thing I have ever done and if you've ever ran 26.2 miles without stopping, I know you'll agree!
There'll be blood, sweat and always a few toe nails missing, but it will be worth it!
Springhill Hospice opened in 1989 and provides Specialist Palliative Care for people with life-limiting illness. In addition to services for patients, care is extended to the patient's carers and families.
The hospice is an independent charitable organisation and relies on voluntary contributions in order to keep the doors open.
If you can sponsor or donate as little or as much as you can, it will help in raising much needed funds for a very worthy local Charity.
