Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in this tough obstacle course to challenge myself as I am 66 and approaching the latter part of my life and I don't want to see it wasted. Fortunately I am very fit for my age and intend to stay that way.

I am not only taking part in the "Spartan Race" which is a 13k obstacle course on the 31st August with my fifteen year old son, I am also taking part in a Tough Mudder event on the 26th October which is an even bigger challenge. I am doing the Tough Mudder with a team from the Woking Leisure Centre who are also dedicated to the challenge. We are called the Woking Tough Mudders.

Tough Mudder is a 10-12 mile obstacle course designed to test all-around strength, stamina, teamwork, and mental grit. Tough Mudder is Probably the Toughest Event on the Planet. Probably.

I want to raise as much money as possible for the Woking Hospice because of all the good work they do in our community by taking care of those who are unfortunately coming to the end of their lives. My brother died in a hospice after spending three years with bone cancer. The hospice he was in took great care of him and his family.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I have completed the Spartan Race and did it in a great time 2hrs 3mins, I was 799th out of 3169, proving that age is just a number and anyone can do it if they believe in themselves, I was the eldest participant. Unfortunately my son was unable to join me but will definitely be doing it next year.

I still have the Tough Mudder to do on the 26th October so please help me raise as much money as possible. Thank you.
