Operation NO CHOCOLATE for ten months - mega hard!!!! · 14 June 2015

CAN is a UK based charity whose aim is to help some of the poorest people on the planet – the mountain people of Nepal. It helps local communities to raise their standard of living and strengthen indigenous, community-based cultures.

Story

Hi, I'm Mick and I'm 10 years old.

I gave up up chocolate in February when my best friend said he wanted to do something for charity. So I suggested giving up chocolate for a year and he said OK. Then I wanted to do it too! When I was deciding what charity to choose the Nepal earthquake happened and I wanted to help.

My Mum & Dad met in Nepal & they have been to some of the places affected by the earthquake so we've talked a lot about it and I'm wondering how people are doing.

Also I really like climbing up mountains so this charity looks good because it's set up by a famous mountaineer.

My favourite mountain yet is Stickle Tarn in the Lake District. I haven't been to Nepal but I really want to climb one of the mountains there.

So far I haven't eaten chocolate since February 16th 2015. I even made my sister lick the chocolate off ice-lollies.

(And shhhhhh don't tell anyone, but my friend has given up the challenge already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
