Story
Hi, I hope your well. Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. On October the 7th, I am planning to run my first marathon to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. The charity is truly special to my close friends The Hazells. Sam keeps me energised and supported in the classroom and I felt it would be the perfect opportunity to give something back to a charity which is so close to their hearts. Her family continually raise money for GOSH and it is on their behalf that I will complete the 26.2 miles. Great Ormond Street is an amazing charity. The BBC programmes show a snapshot of their work. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01hn8vl To see what your money would help in more detail, visit: http://www.gosh.org/gen/why-we-need-your-help/where-your-money-goes/
I just want to say how grateful I am for all the support around me. Sam for motivating me and giving this marathon a real purpose, my brother Craig for running around the block with me, Hayley for sending me inspirational pictures of celebrities for each mile in training, Adam, Natalie and Kevin for getting me into running initially, Lisa for introducing me to the gym and Sarah for making the tea for when I finish. I'm not a born runner and when I suggested it to my mum, she quickly suggested a number of other goals I could do first. However a marathon has always been on my life to do list and I can't wait to tick it off or 'CHECK' (as Gill would say).
Any support you can provide for my charity will be very much appreciated by myself, The Hazells and of course Great Ormond Street Hospital. Thank you for your time in visiting my page, and if you are able to sponsor me, even a pound, I would be very grateful.
Every penny will help motivate me to train and actually put the trainers on. It makes the blisters worth it. However most importantly the money can go towards any number of amazing things.
For example:
£50 could help pay for 5 nights accommodation for parents to stay close by.
£100 could provide two specially adapted toys to aid patient rehabilitation
£500 could help pay for a new play room in the hospitals redeveloped site.
Thank you for your support,
