I was diagnosed as Type 2 in September 2011 and it came as a bit of a shock.  Support from my GP has been great and Diabetes UK have provided lots of help and answers.  I'm lucky.  I learned a lot about self management of the condition.

I discovered that exercise helped reduce my HbA1c and I discovered that the most effective exercise (for me) was riding a bike.

This is a chance for me to use my new hobby to raise valuable funds to help pay for research and to say thank you.

And I get a really cool cycling jersey too!
