Story

We are retired men of "a certain age" and three of us joined Chippenham Golf Club at about the same time where we met during a coaching session for new members. We have been playing together once a week ever since and are slowly improving. When Mike received an email from Golf Monthly asking him to sign up for the Macmillan Golf Challenge of playing four rounds of golf in a day he was very keen to have a go and invited his playing partners to join him.  Mike is a great supporter of the Macmillan charity since both he and his wife have been treated for Cancer, a disease which also claimed the lives of both his wife’s parents and his father.  Derek also has personal experience of the outstanding work done by Macmillan nurses as they supported his family during his father's last days. It was thus a simple decision for us all to sign up for the Challenge and, with the very generous help of Chippenham Golf Club who will provide buggies to carry us round, we will aim to complete the challenge on the 23rd June 2015. We hope you will support this worthy cause by sponsoring us for as much as you can.  Thank you for your support.
