Today, 1,890 babies will be born in Malawi. 320 will become orphans. 87 will die before their first birthday from malnutrition or illness. We’re the only organisation in southern Malawi able to feed, house and care for these babies and support their return to their communities.

Story

Thank you for visiting... Just under a year ago, I was made aware of a Charity called Open Arms Malawi. They are an Orphanage that integrates with the local community to give Orphaned children a chance of a healthy, happy life. Open Arms opperate solely on charitable donations employing local nurses, carers, chefs etc to ensure these lovely little guys are cared for while keeping fully in touch with their local culture. 90% of the population live off just £1 a day, so your help really does go a long way.

As the kids pass through the structured systems of care (including education and schooling), they are gently introduced to foster families, or where family can be traced, to relatives to ‘graduate’ if you will from the orphanage. It doesn’t end there either; the charity works closely with the Government and Social Services with follow ups and reviews to see that the newly homed youngsters settle in ok and more importantly, that their new family are treating them with the love and care they deserve.

This is a fantastically ran charity by some truly wonderful people, who literally save the lives of Children who would otherwise have no hope. These kids lives can only be saved when those of us blessed with the ability to give, do exactly that. I would like to ask a favour from you. Please can you sponsor me with whatever you can afford to give today?

I know it's unlikely this message will reach everyone, but if all of my Facebook friends were each to donate £2, that would help this charity by a very meaningful £1,142!!

As some encouragement for you to help me club some dosh together, I’m nipping of for a little 13mile run around Leeds on May 12th (with a gammy knee!!), but trying not to think too much about that! I will also throw down an extra £20 at every £100 milestone to help boost the donation.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I do hope you can help me hit my £430 target by giving whatever you can spare. Your donation goes directly to the Charity.  Please don’t forget to select Gift Aid!

Thank you
