Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have visited other pages many times to donate to noble causes and herculean efforts of stamina and strength...but this is a first for me....and I am proud and humbled to be running for such a fantastic charity as Macmillan. This is primarily in memory of a great University friend Clare who tragically lost her life this year and joins a long list of people I know and love that have lost their battle to cancer including my own father, father-in-law, and inspirational school friend Alex Boag.
Training so far has been embarrassingly thin on the ground...but I did take the ballsy move of doing the Castles Triathlon in Bamburgh a few weeks ago and didn't make an idiot of myself. With some Yorkshire Fell Races to come over August and the lovely hills of Hebden Bridge to keep me on my toes I will not be letting the Happy Feet team down!
As you might have realised I am not running this half marathon on my own and I join a 40-strong team called Happy Feet to raise as much money as possible. The Bristol Half Marathon will be a time when we can put our loss to one side for a moment and make a positive statement about what those who we have lost meant to us, so please give generously.
The Mr Blond reference harks back to fun times at Durham Uni and a memorable team effort fancy dress evening as Reservoir Dogs. We are back for an encore!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks and big love
Mike
