Story

10 'n' In is a collective of musicians and singers, from across the Fylde Coast. Our Musical Director is Mr Robert Richmond.

Each year, we convene to perform a concert, for a chosen charitable cause. In previous years, our concerts have raised thousands o pounds for UNHCR, The Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, The Mountain Rescue Service, and the North West Children's Support Group.

In November, 2020, 10 'n' In gathered online to record an original arrangement in support of Streetlife, a charity supporting vulnerable young people in Blackpool. Streetlife's work is more important than ever, as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to hinder the town's vital leisure and entertainment industry. As businesses struggle and unemployment rises, young people will increasingly find themselves in vulnerable situations. Streetlife can help them with food or a place to stay, or counselling and key life-skills training. However, fundraising has been stunted by the pandemic, leaving Streetlife with fewer resources with which to help young people.

More information on Streetlife can be found here https://wearestreetlife.org/ .

The arrangement, by Mr Robert Richmond, is an original blend of Mondnacht, a poem by Joseph Von Eichendorff, set to music by Schumann, with Silent Night, by Franz Gruber and Joseph Mohr. The stunning soprano solo has been performed by Jane Irwin, with accompanying vocals from 10 'n 'In. The piano accompaniment was performed by Robert Richmond.

The recording has also been set to a sequence of images from Blackpool, taken in 2020 by Mike Todman, along with images from Streetlife. A lyrical translation produced by Terry Bold is also available. Film editing and production was conducted by Mike Todman.
