Story
If 60 is the new 40, then my last midlife crisis was merely youthful exuberance, and this may be the real thing!!!!
Following my recent trip walking on the Great Wall of China, I have been inspired (others may have different, and possibly more honest descriptions!!) to tick off more items from my “bucket” list. My list includes several long distance National Trails, and it seemed logical to raise some money for charity whilst attempting to walk some of these routes.
So, in keeping with the “Fortified Boundaries” theme, I will be attempting to complete end to end walks this summer along the Offa’s Dyke and Hadrian’s Wall paths – so a mere 258 miles in total.
I will be raising money for Primrose Hospice in Bromsgrove, and Macmillan Cancer Care. These have significance for my wider family as Howard Jones received excellent, compassionate care from these organisations towards the end of his almost two year battle with cancer earlier this year.
This is where you come in.
Would you please be kind enough to sponsor my efforts to raise as much as possible to help these two organisations with their valuable work in the local community. Every penny received from donations will go to the charities, there will be no deductions for any expenses.
I will be posting regular updates to keep everyone informed of my progress
The walk along Offa’s Dyke will be about 17days in July 2014, and Hadrian’s Wall will be about 8 days in August 2014.
Thank you for your support,
Mike Grinyer
