Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in memory our daughter Mila.

The reason we are helping to raise money for Sands (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death) is because our little girl Mila Kate Millar was born sleeping on 10 April this year.

Mila entered this world at ten past seven on 10 April 2013, weighing 6lb 1 oz, 52 cm long with dark brown hair, curly on top and straight at the back.  Mila was perfect in every single way.  She had the most beautiful little face, with the cutest little nose and lips, ten little fingers and ten little toes.  Mummy and Daddy fell head over heels in love with her.

I was due for induction at 41 weeks + 1 day (Wednesday 10 April 2013) however on 9 April 2013, one day earlier our little girl Mila's little heart stopped beating.  This was the most devastating, heartwrenching day of our lives.  We felt empty and still do.  This day will live with us forever.

Sands are a charity that is there to help offer support and information to families who have experienced the loss of their baby through stillbirth or neonatal death.  With the help of Sands we were able to create a Memory box, which holds the most precious memories of our baby girl.  They offer support on the end of the telephone and run local support groups on a monthly basis. 

We hope to help raise money to ensure the work of Sands can continue and help raise awareness of their WHY?17 Campaign.  17 babies die each day and many without a known cause. 

As Mila's parents we will never experience any of those special "firsts" of childhood, such as her first smile, first wobbly steps, first words, first day of school, or first school dance.  Throughout pregnancy we dreamt of summertimes in Newcastle, wintertimes and Christmas, holidays, birthdays, graduations, weddings and if blessed grandchildren.  So by helping to raise money for Sands we hope that more research can be carried out to help prevent more babies dying. 

Adam and I bonded with our beautiful little girl long before she was born we read her stories and sang her nursery ryhmes and we hope with all our hearts she knew how much her Mummy and Daddy loved her.

As a parent the love you feel for your child is undescribable and hopefully one day we will meet her again.
