Story
Miles died in an accident in Peru whilst walking with friends. This charity is Ockley based, where he grew up, and he was aware of the amazing work GHDT do with the horses and donkeys but also with the beach dogs and other stray dogs and cats. The feeding, neutering, parasite control, vaccinations and veterinary care done by GHDT greatly improve the quality of life of all of these animals. Animal welfare was very important to Miles. and dogs were particularly special to him.
Update - Miles would have been 25 on 10th June 2025 but sadly this means he died nearly 3 years ago. We miss him so much but we think he would be glad that the money raised for GHDT has helped hundreds of homeless dogs. 3 dog paddocks have been built in his name where groups of dogs live together in comfort and have lots of love and attention too, as well as their health needs attended.
As a memorial to Miles, we have placed a bench on Ockley green, between the cricket clubhouse and the cricket pitch. This seemed a suitable spot as he loved Ockley and spent many hours on the green. ‘He will not be forgotten, we promise him that.’
We will be continuing to give and raise money to GHDT in Miles’s name.
