We deliver athlete-led wellbeing programmes to support young people facing challenges

Story

Military in Motion Troopers participated in live online fitness and training sessions with Troop Leader Dame Kelly.

Troop Leader devised challenges, programmes, and virtual races as well as the annual Trooper Games to keep the Troopers physically fit and aid their wellbeing over lockdown with online challenges and live fitness session - as well as the odd social event!

Once Lockdown was over the Troopers  started to participate in these sessions/events face to face, and no longer in Zoom boxes all the time led by Troop Leader.

Friendships that will last a lifetime have been formed and Troopers are now coming together to raise money in support of the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust which puts world class athletes shoulder to shoulder with young people.

16 Troopers - Ceri Armstrong, Claire Brown, Rachel Freeman, Helen Hunt, Dawn Lawrence, Sue Piper, Tracy Summers, Suzanne Tully, Alison Ward, Louise Cullen, Jo Frank, Angela Mitchell, Zen Neal,  Kathy Tilbury, Gabby Uncles and Dena Whitehorn will all be running in the LONDON LANDMARKS HALF MARATHON on Sunday 7th April 2024 to raise money for The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.

Sal Quao has unfortunately had to drop out due to illness but she will still be honouring her sponsorship commitments once she is better.

The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust works with young people, equipping them with a winning mindset and shaping their futures - it's a team like no other.

Whether that’s building relationship skills, improving self-esteem, or learning to stay focused, our sporting champions help the next generation move forward with confidence. The Trust has a goal to improve the health and wellbeing of 10,000 young people across the UK facing challenges in their everyday lives, by 2031.

Your support to help us hit our £7250 fundraising goal will allow us to support the equivalent of 20 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with an 'On Track To Achieve' programme.

This programme aims to build their confidence, self-esteem, and wellbeing through the mentoring of a world-class athlete.

Thanks for helping us Fundraise!
