Millfields School 50 Mile Bike Ride · 28 June 2019

In many rural areas across the globe children are denied access to basic needs due to the barrier of distance. World Bicycle Relief’s mission is to provide sustainable, appropriate bicycles to mobilise and empower individuals and communities so they can travel to schools, clinics and markets.

Story

Millfields Community School Cycling team have been riding as a team in the Hackney Primary School Cycling League and have won the league for the past three years.  This year the team of 9-11 year olds want to try and use the skills we have learnt and take on a bigger challenge of each rider riding 50 miles.

We love cycling, it helps keep us fit and it also can get us to school quicker. We know how lucky we are to have access to bikes and good cycling facilities, so we want to share that opportunity with others.

We will be raising money for World Bicycle Relief that helps children in developing countries get to school by buying Buffalo bicycles for them.

Each Buffalo bicycle costs £95 and we are hoping to raise enough for 20 bikes. Can you help us by sponsoring us per mile, per metre or whatever you can afford?

World Bicycle Relief believes in a world where distance is no longer a barrier to education, healthcare and economic opportunity. Our mission is to provide sustainable, appropriate bicycle transportation to mobilise and empower individuals and communities so they can travel to schools, clinics and markets.
