In August 2022, our gorgeous Millie fell suddenly ill. A CT scan revealed that she has suffered a stroke - something we didn’t think could happen in children. Our world fell apart as Millie deteriorated and had to undergo an emergency operation to relieve pressure in her brain. A stay in PICU followed, with Millie in an induced coma and we were left with no idea as to how severely she would be affected by the profound damage to her brain. When she awoke, she was unable to talk and had no movement on her right side.  Following her long stay in hospital, Millie spent 16 weeks at The Children’s Trust and due to her incredible determination and the amazing care from the wonderful therapists, careers, doctors and nurses, she is making amazing progress and is well on her way to walking and talking again!
