London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

Every day in the UK 1,100 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’, but 40% of cancer cases are preventable. While society continues searching for a cure, we are investing millions into our prevention & survival work, helping people live healthier, free from the devastating effects of cancer.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page :)

I am hoping to raise £2000 for the charity World Cancer Research Fund by running the London Marathon on 23rd April 2023.

I’ve always dreamed of running the London marathon. Now I have the opportunity to run and raise money for a charity that researches into a disease that has affected my life personally and for thousands around the world.

I was 20-years-old when my mum was diagnosed with lung cancer. She died before my 21st birthday. She was the warmest, most giving, selfless and loving person I knew. She left behind a loving husband and 5 children (3 boys and 2 girls). We are all now grown up with children of our own and every day I wish my twin girls could have met their grandmother.

I was born in Vietnam, adopted by an Australian family and my husband is British born half Sri Lankan /half Australian. I have lived in the UK for 20 years. With such an international family I was really drawn to supporting a charity with a global presence. And you can help them too!

Any donation would be hugely appreciated! Thank you :)

With loving kindness, Mimi
