Miniclip 3 Peaks Challenge for TCT · 20 August 2010
So the climbing is over but the challenge to raise as much money as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust continues; this mission is not yet complete!!
With all 3 of the UK's highest peaks being successfully conquered, we have covered about 26 miles on foot and climbed around 10,000ft in total - about a third of Everest! (see our blog at http://threepeaks.wp.miniclip.com/blog/).
The actual trekking was completed in 14hrs 58 mins just over the 14hr target set. The 10hrs allocated for driving was hampered by the driver getting lost (twice!) and a tyre blow-out!!
Everyone is chuffed to bits to have made it though and raised so much for TCT but we still want to smash our target so all donations would still be gratefully received.
Thanks for everyone's support which kept us all going when it was dark, wet, cold and bodies aching!!
So what did we do? Will read below for the pre-event dialogue:
What are we doing?
On 20 August 2010, twelve Miniclip employees will be getting out from behind their desks and attempting the National Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT), and we’re hoping you may be able to help us!
Who are Teenage Cancer Trust?
TCT exists to improve the quality of life and chances of survival for young people with cancer. It costs between £500,000 and £3,500,000 to build and equip a specialist teenage cancer unit. TCT do not receive any government funding and as a result, they rely on voluntary donations from people like us.
It is estimated that only half of the teenagers diagnosed with cancer have access to the TCT dedicated, specialist support around the UK. So we would like to do more. Their aim is to build enough units so that by 2012, every single teenager will be treated on one.
What is the Three Peaks Challenge?
Our challenge is to climb and travel between the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales over a continuous 24 hour period. During this time we will walk a distance of around 25 miles, climb approximately 10,000 feet and cover a distance of 450 miles between peaks. This is not going to be a holiday and it will certainly not be easy!
How can you help?
We have been training for months but now we need your support. If you are able to support us, please make any donation that you can. All costs have been covered for this challenge so your donations will go directly to TCT.

Thanks in advance from all of the Miniclip Challenge Team!
