Story

Having seen the amazing fundraising events that different members of the office have undertaken recently I felt inspired to have a go at one. Given that my physical fitness is laughable it couldn’t be anything remotely taxing. At some point a joke was made about attempting to grow a ‘tash for November and the idea stuck.

After speaking to family and friends, there followed the realisation that my own moustache growing ability has never been put to the test. Panic stricken I asked other members of the Children and Families team if they wanted to take part in the challenge also. Thankfully they agreed and averted what could have become a true Napoleonic folly.

Credit for the title of the page has to go to Jim on Phil’s team. Not only did he rescue it from ending up with the dire title I had scraped together but he was well on his way to coming up with a rap.

Now for the serious stuff: Given the work that the Children and Families teams do on a daily basis with families in the Exeter area it felt sensible that the charity the fundraising goes to should be a local one. For that reason Honeylands on Pinhoe Road was picked, Honeylands provide vital support and aid to children with complex special needs, life limiting conditions, physical and mental developmental needs in Exeter.
