Mollie's Marathon

London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Hey everyone, thanks for visiting my page!
Like many others, every year I watch the London Marathon on TV, and every year I say to myself that one day I'll be running too... However, this year was different to the rest - I was well and truly motivated and I signed up on a whim. Lo and behold, two months after registering, I received a call to say that I'd been accepted. So it's scary but true... The London Marathon 2018 I'm coming for ya!
More importantly, I'm running for Refuge, an inspirational charity that provides specialist support for women and children experiencing domestic violence. And did you know that one woman in four will experience this at some point in her lifetime?
My decision to fundraise for Refuge is on account of a few who are dear to my heart, and have sadly been affected by domestic violence themselves. Fortunately they're no longer suffering from abuse, but I've always been moved by their ultimate strength and courage. This run is for them, and I've no doubt that they'll be my main source of motivation from now until I cross that darn finish line!
But not so many are as lucky as my loved ones, and I'm thankful that a support network such as Refuge exists - "to empower women and children to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear". By kindly sponsoring me today, you're helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children.
Thank you so much, here's to race day! xoxo
