I'm currently a first year university student studying a Joint Honours Degree in English Language with Drama and Theatre Studies.

As part of my development, Liverpool Hope University has offered me the chance to take part in their overseas project 'Global Hope'. There are a variety of different projects taking place in countries, aiming to educate and support communities around the world.

I‘m taking part in a project in India, teaching women English in a local college for 2 weeks and in my 3rd week I’ll be visiting a school so that I can teach children English too.

With English being such a prestigious language around the world today, teaching these women and children will allow them to have wider opportunities in terms of work which will benefit a lot of different people in the long run.

Here in the UK, education is taken for granted. To be able to utilise my skills teaching English in another country whereby education isn't so easy to come by, it‘s an incredible project to be a part of.

These people I shall be teaching in India deserve a top quality education just like we have here. I‘m so grateful to be given the chance to make such a big impact on lives whilst having an life-changing experience myself.

In order to ensure that this project goes ahead, I’m required to raise a grand total of £1,500. This money not only will ensure that these projects go ahead, but they will ensure that Global Hope, as a recognised charity, will be able to keep projects like this going in the long run.

The Global Hope team are incredibly hard working, passionate and adamant that projects like the one above are amazing to experience. projects like these will ensure that we as students of Liverpool Hope University are making a difference in communities around the world, spreading awareness of social justice for all .
